Doctor Biography

Prof. Dr. Salma Parvin working as Glaucoma consultant, Bangladesh Eye Hospital & Institute, Dhaka. She was born in Barisal & completed her MBBS from Sher- E- Bangla Medical College, Barisal in 1990. She had done Diploma in Ophthalmology from BIRDEM (Under Dhaka University) in 1999 and obtained FCPS in Ophthalmology from BCPS in 2007. She was trained on OCT & Laser therapy in Singapore and trained in Glaucoma from Aravind Eye Hospital, India.

 Prof. Dr. Salma Parvin was the Senior Medical Officer at BIRDEM hospital, Asst Prof at Lions Eye Institute & Hospital and Chief Consultant In Prime Bank Eye Hospital. She has special interest on Phaco surgery, Glaucoma, Medical Retina and Uveal diseases. She has long working experience with Prof. Sk. M. A. Mannaf and Prof. M. Nazrul Islam, the two very well-known and internationally reputed glaucoma specialist of Bangladesh.  She attended many national and international conferences. Dr. Salma is life member of Ophthalmological Society of Bangladesh (OSB), Bangladesh Uvea Society (BUS), Bangladesh Glaucoma Society (BGS), All India Ophthalmological Society (AIOS). Currently she is the Secretary General of Bangladesh Glaucoma Society. 

Other than the professional carrier Prof. Dr. Salma Parvin has keen interest in some extracurricular activities. She got many award in singing since her very childhood in national level. She was the best LEO in international LEO Camp in 1987 in COX’s Bazar. She attended national Girl’s Guide camp in 1978 & 1980. She was the Vice President of Shandhani, Sher-E-Bangla medical college branch. She has special interest in roof top gardening.
